A Photography Club in the Livingston Area

Practical Photography Group (PPG)

We have a number of places for new members.

If you are interested feel free to contact us for a chat about how we can help.
Further information on the Practical Photography Group can be obtained by completing the online form on the contact page.

Our focus is on the practical aspects of camera use and photography techniques. We believe this makes the group especially useful for new or less experienced photographers or indeed those looking to expand their skills. The main aim of our group is to encourage all members to interact and share their knowledge, skills and experience within the group, to help other members to develop their own photographic skills at whatever ability level. As you will see from our group name Practical Photography Group (PPG), the majority of our meetings are dedicated to the practical use of cameras, however we do touch on theory from time to time.

All members are required to participate in our “Monthly Challenge” on a topic which is selected from the syllabus by the committee. This involves submitting one digital image, full size JPG of the topic for the particular month, the images will be anonymous and shown to all members using our projector and voted on by all members.

We also go out on photo shoots on certain Tuesday evenings (weather permitting), some of the locations that we have recently visited are the Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies, River Almond, North and South Queensferry, Linlithgow Palace, 5 Sisters Zoo, Farne Islands, new Queensferry Crossing and many more.
