Snowdrop Festival at the Botanics January 26, 2026 to March 11, 2026


Just 10 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh, the Botanics is an ideal location to spot beautiful and unusual species of snowdrops while enjoying the peaceful winter landscapes. Special snowdrop-themed guided tours will be available Saturdays and Sundays every weekend from 17 January to 22 February.

Snowdrop Weekend at Hopetoun – Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th February 2026

Hopetoun House is once again delighted to be taking part in the Scottish Snowdrop Festival, offering a rare chance to visit Hopetoun House and Grounds during the winter months. -Join us on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th February 2026, open 10am–4pm (last entry 3pm), and celebrate the first signs of spring with a refreshing winter walk among these delicate snowdrops. Enjoy Grounds Only or House & Grounds visits, or join one of our popular Ranger-led Snowdrop Guided Walks (two per day). -There are Snowdrop Trails, complementary snowdrop-themed crafts for young children, and the Stables Kitchen will be open for warming treats. -Dogs on leads are welcome in the Grounds and in the Stables Kitchen.  – Tickets start from £4 for children and £7 for adults, with family tickets available. February Steam Trains at Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway


We are open for February half term with steam trains running on Wednesday 11, Thursday 12, Saturday 14, Sunday 15, Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 at 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30 from Bo’ness Railway Station. Kids Go Free! One child (5-15) may travel free of charge with each fare paying adult on and all infants (0-4) travel free!

All Kinds of Classes will be in attendance from Vintage and Modern day Tractors will be taking part as will some Novice Horticultural Horse’s Ploughing
Caterer Will be on Field and spectators are welcome


West Lothian Lunar New Year Celebration


On Sunday 1st West Lothian College from 11am – 3pm on Sunday 1 March. At 11AM to 3pm at West Lothian College – Activities include: Scottish bagpipes, Chinese performances, Cultural shows from India, Slovakia, Africa and more, plus a Lunar New Year Market – The first of its kind in West Lothian.
